Binex BTF

Dear Veetelers and members of BTF,

BTF is organizing a very fun Binex to the north of the Veluwe from Friday 24th of May till Sunday 26th of May!

On Friday we will meet at 12:15 pm at Zodiac. First we will visit an animal shelter with many different animal species. In this special animal shelter they have build an unique enclosure for rabbits that is suitable for their needs, they call this their "konijnorama". Besides rabbits, the shelter has dogs, cats, birds and other animals as well. We will get a tour and there will be opportunity to cuddle with some animals! After the visit to the animal shelter we will go to the accommodation in Uddel, which is enclosed by beautiful nature. After dinner we will receive a lecture from Joliene Wennink, who is an expert on wolf conservation. She will tell us all about the survival of the wolves in the Netherlands, and will also tell us something about jackals which may also move towards the Netherlands in the future. Joliene studied in Wageningen herself and now works for 'Wolven in Nederland' (Wolves in the Netherlands). The evening is free, so bring some games!

On Saturday we will visit the "Renderklippen" for a walk, which is grazed by a special breed of sheep. Hopefully we will meet the shepherd with his dogs there. After this we will go to a deer park. For lunch we will visit the "Koperen Ezel" where we will walk and picknick with donkeys. Of course, we will also have plenty of time to cuddle them! After we are well fed and have had enough cuddles, we will go to "Kroondomein 't Loo" for a hike with a forester. He will tell us all about different tracks of animals and hopefully we will also encounter some wild boar or deer. When we return from the hike we have a special evening program planned, which is a surprise.

On Sunday, already the last day of our binex we will visit the Apenheul where we will get a guided tour through the park and will hopefully learn some more about these funny animal. After the tour you are of course able to move around the park. The park has 35 different species of monkeys, of which half run free!

We are back in Wageningen before diner (around 18:00).
