About GSSI. GSSI is a partnership between some of the largest (seafood) companies globally, development agencies, FAO, and NGOs, working together towards more sustainable seafood through shared and non-competitive solutions. The GSSI partnership is supported by a small yet dedicated team having the ability to affect global change.

The Position. The Partnership and Outreach Officer plays an integral role in growing and maintaining the GSSI partnership. The Partnership and Outreach Officer engages with companies in the seafood supply chain around the world to convince them to support GSSI and become a GSSI partner. Together with the Program Director and Operations Manager, the Partnership and Outreach Officer represents GSSI at trade shows, industry conferences and gatherings, and coordinate GSSI’s participation in such events. Additionally, the Partnership and Outreach Officer performs other support functions to Program Director.

The ideal candidate is well organized, a strong communicator, enjoys working in an international context, and is keen to challenge themselves across multiple disciplines. That person is flexible enjoys supporting others, and is able to work independently and within a dynamic and growing team. The position reports directly to the GSSI Program Director.

Core Responsibilities
1. Partnership Engagement | Work closely with the Program Director to strengthen strategic relationships with existing Funding Partners, Sourcing Policy Partners and Affiliated partners. This includes:
a) Act as an account manager and first point of contact for GSSI partners
b) Execute the engagement strategy (conducting surveys, calling, mailing, in-person meetings)
c) Keep a detailed overview of all interaction and progress
d) Extract data from our annual report.

2. Partnership Recruitment | Work closely with Program Director on recruiting new Funding Partners and Affiliated Partners. This will include:
a) Executing the outreach strategy (calling, mailing, in-person meetings)
b) Coordinate all partner communications
c) Keep a detailed overview and tracking of all interaction and progress (CRM)
d) Manage the partnership agreement/approval and onboarding process

3. Events Coordination | Work closely with Program Director and Operations Manager to coordinate events in line with the organizations event outreach strategy to build international recognition and exposure
a) Organize all logistics concerning GSSI’s participation in industry and partner events and workshops. This includes coordinating and arranging suitable dates with globally dispersed participants; quoting and booking meeting rooms, meeting equipment and catering; performing follow-up activities
b) Research new events that could be strategically beneficial for GSSI

4. Assistant to the Program Director
a) Assist the Program Director with meeting scheduling, travel arrangements (transport, hotels, visas), and any other assistance as required
b) Support the Director in preparing materials for the quarterly board meetings
c) Provide assistance on an ad hoc basis to the Operations Manager and Benchmark Manager

o A relevant BSc degree or equivalent training and work experience
o Fluency in English, oral and written, is a must. French and Spanish are preferred but not essential
o At least one year’s work experience;
o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
o Meticulous and attentive to detail;
o Resourceful and independent;
o Personal selling experience an advantage;
o Affiliation with sustainability and/or the seafood sector is an advantage;
o Keen to work in a startup environment, and happy to ‘roll up your sleeves’
