Dear Members,

Last week was a relatively quiet week, but a fun and interesting week non the less. The week started with the internship/job evening of Aquarius on Wednesday. 50 to 60 people were present to listen and interact with ten different companies. Hopefully the students who visited found a nice internship or even made a connection for their first job. The Eastern egg hunt of Team International of Thursday was cancelled. But before the day had finished another activity had already taken place: NZV Farm2Fork webinar. During this meeting an explanation about the concept Farm2Fork was given. Furthermore, they indicated the current problems the concept faces. Next to that, the concept was viewed from different angles to get multiple perspectives, resulting in an interesting discussion. Lastly, two presentations were given about companies that cooperate to Farm2Fork. It was nice to see how and understand the different way of farming these companies have. The week could not have been better.

Next week will be a week with a lot of fun and games. The week start with the RFS beer games on Tuesday evening. How well do you know your beer and can you recognize it? This is the main question of the evening. On Wednesday Porculum organises the Puike Porculum Pubquiz. During this pubquiz they will test how much knowledge we have about the livestock sector, Porculum, “De Veetelers”, and of course about general knowledge. Who has the most knowledge and who is going to win the quiz? We challenge everyone to try to win.

Dear Members,

Last Wednesday, an anatomy afternoon was organized by BTF, in which a muntjac was dissected! An incredibly beautiful and educational afternoon where many interested people were present. This week, the job interviews, that are part of the job application course organized by the Sollicie, are starting. The Aquarius internship/job evening will take place on Wednesday. During this evening, students and companies will have the opportunity to get to know each other. A busy day is planned for Thursday. In the afternoon, Team International organizes a true Easter egg hunt! On Thursday, it is also time for the online student for a day, during which potential animal scientists will become acquainted with our studies and Wageningen student life. On Thursday evening, the NZV organizes a webinar with the theme ‘Farm2fork’, in which short production chains will be discussed. It promises to be an active week!

Dear Members,

We hope you all learned just as much as us this past week with very fun and educational activities organised by Porculum and the Discussie. Sadly the Board could not partisipate in PFC introduction lessons but we believe that this was still a great succes. Upcomming week will be calmer so you will have enough time to catch up on your study delay!

Dear Veetelers.

The long Easter weekend has ended and week four of period five has officially begun. Where last week we could bask in the spring sun at the Rhine, this week we should dust off our gloves and scarfs again.

This new week also brings with it a very interesting activity, namely the Anatomy Afternoon organised by BTF on Wednesday 7 April 2021. We hope to see many of you at this fun activity.

Houdoe!

Dear Members,

Last Wednesday it was time for the First Round Cattle Judging, organised by RFS. Although this could not take place physically as in other years, this was still a great success. By means of the pre-recorded videos, Members could still get acquainted with judging and scoring the cows. After the successful RFS activity on Wednesday, it was time for the Surprise Activity organised by the Board on Thursday. The content of the activity was kept secret for a long time, but it was eventually revealed that it contained a Murder Mystery Party! Board Member President, Anne van der Peet, was murdered and it was up to the Members to find out by who, where and how she was murdered. In the end, Board Member Secretary, Anne Pennings, turned out to have committed the murder in the Zodiac room with a Board clog!

It is now week 2 of period 5, and with four activities it promises to be a busy week! The Student Representative Evening will take place on Monday. The evening will start with Henk Bovenhuis of Program Committee Animal Sciences, who will give a presentation about the data analysis courses that the WUR has to offer. This presentation is given as the quantitative skills indicated that student have trouble with data analysis. Then we will discuss the PC-AS reports from the previous months. On Tuesday, Porculum organises a Pubcollege in collaboration with Vencomatic. There will a lecture and discussion on stable emissions. A Discussion Evening is organised by the Discuscie on Wednesday. This evening is all about "Re-rooting the Dutch Food System".  And the Introduction Lesson by PFC will take place on Thursday. This will take place online this year and will be a lesson in equestrian pilates! The founder of this, Sara Ouwehand, will introduce the Members to this form of body use in an interactive way.

Have a good week!
