Hoihoi!
My name is Sofie Bax, I am 20 years old. My hometown is Dalen, a small village located in Drenthe. I live there together with my parents, my older sister, two cats, two horses, and a dog. I am currently in my second year of the Bachelor Animal Sciences.
Horseback riding has always been my greatest passion. At the moment I have two horses of my own: Knock Out and Go Girl. Knock Out is retired from competition and I mainly keep him for leisure riding. With Go Girl, however, I compete at a high level in dressage (subtop). I am excited to see what the future will bring. While I am in Wageningen, my father and trainer take care of the horses, for which I am very grateful.
Besides studying and riding, I also work at two different farms. On one dairy farm, I milk around 180 cows, usually once during the weekend. Additionally, I work at an organic dairy farm where I help organize “boerengolf” and guide groups of people through different games and activities on the farm.
When I first started studying, I immediately felt at home among “De Veetelers”. In my first year, I joined PFC. I had a wonderful year as secretary and always enjoyed the meetings and activities. In addition, I was treasurer of the Akcie for about three to four months, which I also greatly enjoyed.
Because I have always felt so comfortable among “de Veetelers”, I find it very rewarding to give something back to the association. That is one of the reasons why “de Veetelers” board appealed to me so much, especially the function of External Affairs. I am very much looking forward to the coming year!
Greetings,
Sofie
