Hi everyone!

My name is Manon Greve. You may know me as former Board member of Study association “De Veetelers” and current board member of SGSC. I am known in the Veetelers world as somebody who is really open and honest about personal stuff like sexualities, women’s rights, mental health and lots of other important subjects.

I have struggled a lot with mental health issues in the past and I have always found it such a relief to talk with somebody about it. Talking really helps and there are a lot of platforms where you can talk about your personal struggles. To make this more personal, Study association “De Veetelers” came up with the idea to introduce two confidantial contactpersons that are there for all their Members. It can sometimes feel that your problems aren’t that big while it is a burden in your day-to-day life. That’s why we want to give you the opportunity to come talk to me or the other confidantial contactperson and lower the threshold for you.

So, if you are struggling with anything in your life right now, please feel free to contact me and we can have a little chat about it. It can really be anything: your home situation, a relationship/friendship, bullying within the Study association or even bigger topics like racism and sexual intimidation by fellow students. Everything you tell me stays between us.

Hello everybody,

My name is Janiek, I’m 21 years old and I’m a fourth year student. I have finished my BSc Animal Sciences last summer in 2022, and I’m currently doing a full-time board year at SWU Thymos. During my BSc I already have been quite busy in ‘Veetelersland’, with being a member of Lustrum Almanakcie 38 as a highlight.

I have chosen to become a confidential contact person, because I want everyone to feel safe and at home in Wageningen, whether you are very active within “de Veetelers” or not at all. I also have enough life experience, and I have quite some mental health issues, which makes it more important for me to be able others when they are dealing with an issue. Due to my own mental health issues, I feel like I might imagine myself a little better in someone else’s situation. However, every situation is different of course, and I most certainly do not want to compare anyone else’s situations with my own, which makes it even more imporant that everyone deals with their situation in their own way.
