European Projects Manager
The European Forum of Farm Animal Breeders (EFFAB) has a job opening for an enthusiastic Project Manager in European Research Projects related to sustainable animal farming systems.
We are seeking a candidate with European project management experience and aptitude to work in a small international team. EFFAB participates in European research projects by disseminating results and transferring knowledge. EFFAB and FABRE TP engage with members and other research Technology Platforms (TPs) to draft Research Strategic Agendas and vision papers in the field of Livestock, Aquaculture and Insect breeding and farming. In this role, you will support both activities and collaborate closely with the rest of the team.

About the job
- You will collaborate closely with our project team to make sure everything runs smoothly. The main tasks include managing the project portfolio (including financial administration), effectively communicating, and disseminating research results and engaging with our partners and stakeholders.
- You will support crafting EU project proposals such as Horizon Europe and COST actions. Your creativity is more than welcome.
- Join EFFAB and FABRE TP activities on animal genetics and scientific communication.
- You will work in multi-disciplinary teams connecting researchers, academia and the agri-food sector to lay the groundwork for European and regional projects.
- Last but not least; you will ensure deadlines are met with spot-on reports.
Who are you?
- A Master’s degree is a requirement for this position, a background in life sciences will be an asset.
- You are based in Belgium or the Netherlands or are willing to relocate.
- You have 5 years of experience hands-on managing European Research projects including the administrative and financial aspects.
- Communication skills and a proactive attitude are your assets.
- Managing multiple tasks while ensuring the entire team is on the same page is your thing.
- Motivated, positive and a team player who can contribute to an excellent work environment.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software and experience in web content management
- Near native-level English; knowledge of another EU language is an asset.
