One of the most important things a real Veeteler has to do, is advertise for “De Veetelers”. To do that, we advertise the merchandise a Veeteler wears or uses most. This can for example be polo's, mugs, beer pulls, slippers, sunglasses, card sets and a lot of other things. With bright colours and showy logos everybody in the nearby area can immediately see that Veetelers are present. To come up with the latest items, a committee is formed. The Promotion Committee, shortened as Promcom, is perfect for this job. Every period, we come up with a new item marked with the beautiful “De Veetelers”-logo. The items vary from clothing to foods to accessories and gadgets. Shine your brightest with the amazing items of the Promcom!

"ReVEALing the secrets of an Animal Scientist!"

With this statement, we as Parents' Day Committee '24 set to work! Our goal? To give parentsa real experience of a student like their son or daughter! On April 6, we organized the Parents' Day, a day dedicated to our daily life in college. After a nice cup of coffee, education director René Kwakkel opened with a presentation about the structure and content of the study. Thisgave the parents insight into the study "Animal Science" itself. After the presentation of René,Floor van den Heuvel, secretary of the board of "De Veetelers" gave a nice talk about ourbeloved study association. She showed some activities the veetelers organize and gave someinsights on the committies. After Floor's talk, it was time for the traditional pie bakingcontest! The beautiful and delicious cakes were judged by the Veetelers board and then allpresent parents and students were allowed to pick a delicious piece of cake to taste. After thistasty break, former Veeteler Anne Pennings gave a very interesting lecture about her PhD position at Hatchtech. For the rest of the day, parents and caregivers could attend twolectures, one on breeding given by (ABG) and one on animal nutrition (ANU), among otherthings. In addition, there was an interactive practical on reproduction (ADP) where there werereal reproductive organs to view and some microscopy slides to watch! At the end of thisinstructive day, a drink could of course not be missed, because as students we like that afterstudying hard! All in all, we can safely say that it was a successful day!
