The association was founded in 1962 and its goals are:

  • The promotion of the study interests of its members.
  • The stimulation of the contact between students in Animal Sciences.
  • Contribute to the development of its members in relation to the society.

The Study association is composed of many different committees and sub-associations, which all contribute to accomplish these goals.

Study association “De Veetelers” is an active association organised by and for students in Animal Sciences.

Hi everyone!

My name is Kim Wijnbergen, I am 20 years old and I am now in my third year of my bachelor's degree. I come from a village in the Achterhoek called Warnsveld. I grew up here on a dairy farm, where I developed my love for animals. I have ridden horses since I was little and I also find dairy cattle very interesting. So it was a logical step to study Animal Sciences. This was a very good choice because I am really enjoying my time in Wageningen and my studies

In my first year I still lived at home, but I also wanted to do things in Wageningen with friends and with “De Veetelers”. In my second year I joined PFC where I was treasurer and I also held the same position at Almanakcie41. I really enjoyed doing both of these. At the almanac I also came into contact with sponsors and I really enjoyed this. From there my interest in the position of External Information Officer was sparked.

I am looking forward to the coming year on the Board of study association "De Veetelers" and to be the connection between the association and the sponsors, various companies and all other “external affairs”. If you have any questions, you can always contact me or send an email!

Greetings,

Kim

Hey everyone,

My name is Chantal Koolen, I’m nineteen years old, and I was born in the Randstad, in a place called Santpoort-Zuid. I’m currently in my second year of the Bachelor’s program in Animal Sciences. As a child, I was obsessed with animals, especially horses. I begged my parents every day until I was finally old enough to start horseback riding lessons. After that, I wanted every kind of pet—dogs, rabbits, chickens—it didn’t matter, as long as it was an animal. So when the time came to choose a study program, the decision was an easy one.

In my first year of university, I joined the Student for a Day Committee and the Akcie. During this time, I learned a lot about “De Veetelers.” ow I can proudly call myself Education Commissioner I of the board of “De Veetelers”. I believe that everyone should be able to get as much enjoyment out of their studies as possible, so I would like to improve education where possible to achieve that.

Kind regards,
Chantal Koolen

Hello everyone,

My name is Marnix, I’m 22 years old and I grew up in Beekbergen, a small village near Apeldoorn. At the moment, I’m in my third year of the Animal Sciences bachelor’s program. I’ve always been interested in animals from a young age, so this study program suits me perfectly.

When I’m not studying, I enjoy running and going to the gym (when I can find the motivation). I also like having a drink with friends and you might even spot me at a fun party every now and then. Besides studying, I’ve been active within “De Veetelers” for some time now. You might know me from my time in the Akcie, or perhaps you’ve seen me at a Freshmencie activity or one of the fun DoMiBo’s.

I’m really looking forward to the coming year and I hope to make a meaningful contribution to this wonderful association as Commissioner Internal Affairs. If you have any questions or are interested in one of the many committees within “De Veetelers”, feel free to message me or approach me if you see me around!

Kind regards,

Marnix

Hi everyone!

I’m Fleur Gorissen, 23 years old and I’m currently in my fifth year of the bachelor, but I hope to start with my master soon. I come from Leidschenveen, which is part of The Hague. Even though I was raised in a more city like environment, I always had a passion for animals and the country side. Little me was already very curious when it comes to animals. If I saw an animal, small or big, I didn't hesitate to go over and have a closer look. This is still the case, so studying Animal Sciences was a logical choice and I never regretted it.

In my free time, I like to have a few drinks with friends and go to a party every now and then. That’s why you probably have seen me at the Woeste Hoeve quite often. I became active within Study association “De Veetelers” already in my first year by joining the 12th Lustrum committee. After this, I joined the Akcie and became the treasurer of the committee. At the same time, I became part of Véater 2023 and was a mentor of the Freshmencie. Last year, I was busy with making the 41st Almanac and organizing the ceremony. So as you can read I have been quite a busy within “Veetelersland” already.

I'm very grateful that I got the opportunity to become part of the Board as Board Member Treasurer. I’m looking forward to see what this year will bring me! If you have any questions for me, don’t hesitate to ask them!

Kind regards,

Fleur
